Long Shackle Padlocks

A longer shackle increases the amount of exposed metal, making it easier for thieves to attack with bolt cutters, saws, or leverage tools.
If your setup allows, choose a standard shackle padlock for stronger resistance, or even better, a closed shackle design which shields the shackle completely.

If you do need a long shackle padlock, we recommend selecting a larger model with the thickest shackle possible that still fits through your hasp or chain.

Long shackle padlocks are useful where extra clearance or reach is required, for example:

- Securing gates or multiple locking points
- Fastening around thick chains or bars
- Locking large storage units or hasps with wide spacing
