Discus padlocks are quite secure already but sometimes they need extra protection when used in locations that have a higher risk of attack. The addition of a shroud with keyhole access is an ideal solution.

This solution was used by Lincolnshire City Council when they wanted to make their existing set for the parking meters more secure. Councils often need to safeguard items such as parking meters where stored cash increases the risk of the padlocks becoming targets of force attack. The design of the discus padlocks already help to protect against bolt cutters given their closed shackle status. Often parking meters have a bar locked by a padlock and this prevents the meter being opened. To make it more secure then a simple piece of steel can be fabricated and welded on. With a hole made to allow for key access this basically shrouds the whole padlock from attack. As you can see from the images below, this solution worked well for the Council involved.
